The
Confession will be coined by
naysayers as Avenged
Sevenfold’s little brother
followers, but who gives a
shit. The band’s full-length
album Requiem
shreds. Sure The Confession
sound a little like Avenged,
hell the album was produced
by M. Shadows, but hats off
to these boys for trying.
The
Confession may not have the
musical talent expressed by
Avenged, yet they carry that
sleazy swagger that rock and
roll should be. From
the well-annunciated f-bombs
to the dual guitar harmonies
these So-Cal boys are sure
to make a mark in the
business.
By
Inserting hooks in all the
right places on tracks like
“Dance with the Devil” and
“Time is Gone” will
certainly have kids going
apeshit. The album
bounces from heavy and fast
on “Jealousy” to an acoustic
/ piano driven track on
“Requiem.”
Don’t
dismiss The Confession as
copycats. Requiem is
strong and the band is still
in their musical
adolescence. It is going to
be awesome to watch these
boys explode.
Suggested Listening: “The
End is Near,” “Jealousy” and
“Dance with the Devil”
