Amber Pacific - Fading Days

Just because the name Amber Pacific may not be a household name, doesn’t mean they’re not any good. Surprisingly, their Hopeless Records EP Fading Days, is strong and can hold its own. This is one example of not judging a book by its cover.

This five song EP is jam packed with pop punk licks similar to Rufio. And if Rise Against were to make an album all about girls and relationships, it may sound a little like Fading Days.

Matt Young’s vocals are strong and mature and he’s only 19. It’s merely an illustration of how advanced Amber Pacific is already and only one of the band members is legally old enough to drink.

The lyrics are well written and while they’re still about lost relationships, they don’t whine in a teenage fashion. Amber Pacific have a mature overall voice to their music. The drum riffs and guitar melodies carry Fading Days from start to finish and these five songs go by quick, leaving the listener thirsty for five or six more.

Hopefully we’ll see more of Amber Pacific and with that said, I give Fading Days a 7.5 (out of 10). They’re currently touring on the Hurley Presents the Sub City Take Action Stage on the Vans Warped Tour.
