Something like six years ago, a kid with a passion for music and writing began annoying his friends with CD and movie reviews, which were sent to people via E-mail. Upon realizing that some people cared about those silly reviews, that kid began what was known as Vapor Magazine. Operating under that moniker for about a year, confusion began to take place between Vapor and Vapors, the rad print-magazine. Because there was no need to fight, the name was changed from Vapor Magazine to Popular Underground Magazine.

After changing the name, Popular Underground hit the ground running. With a focus on punk, metal, hardcore, pop and rock, PUM was poised to take over the world with honest music journalism. Featuring interviews, concert reviews and loads of CD reviews, PUM became well-known throughout the music industry. Support from indie labels like Victory to majors like Sony carried PUM along for over three years.

So now, we begin the new era of Popular Underground, re-launched, revamped and ready for action, we decided to broaden our horizons. No longer will we focus on a niche or a scene. Scenes get old and stale as we mature. Now, we seek to become your source for everything that's pop. We're keeping it real from where it all began with the music, but we're also going to include Hollywood, fashion, jokes, awesome photography and even models. So sit down, buckle up and shut the fu#* up, because this should be one helluva ride!
