I've always been a fan of Static X. Not a die hard, but one of those people who would throw in a Static X CD when I needed an energy boost or if I was really pissed about something. It's also fun to find a Static X song on a jukebox and blast the hell out of it at some random bar. People oftentimes appear afraid.
It wasn't until I saw Static X live that I really appreciated what they do as a band. I'll be honest, I expected gritty guitars, obnoxious vocals with a mushy overall sound, but I couldn't have been more wrong. The band was crisp, clean and on point. Wayne Static's vocals were clear and his showmanship was stellar. The band was engaging as they ripped through fan favorites, playing a great variety of songs both old and new.
Next time they roll through town, I definitely would not miss them. I've been to a lot of shows and this one ranks pretty high on my list of favorites!
