Spoonfork - All Is Well

(2.5 Out of 5)

Interestingly enough, this project is comprised of a rock duo which originated as a one man show in 2007.  The project was founded on the premise that the music produced is based off of spontaneity and freedom.  As the artists created the tracks this remained their main focus throughout.

Did it work?  I'd say it was a miss.  Yes they definitely succeeded with their goal of spontaneity, however, it sounds like a bunch of different beats and things going on at one time.  The album actually becomes a little overwhelming toward the middle and back end.  It's not the songs or lyrics themselves but more of all the clutter in the background that makes it hard for you to grasp a concrete concept of the music.  I also think this makes it harder to appreciate the full intention of these artists.

When the first track started these guys sounded freakily similar to the works of She Wants Revenge.  I quickly changed my mind after track three however.  There are vocals all over the place combined with electric bass, drums, and a guitar that will occasionally jam out during the tracks.  No offense to these guys, but I’ll pass…. Next!
