Another movie from the Seth Rogen team. It’s almost an identical cast of Superbad. This movie takes a step up and gives a real story of a loser getting a hot chick pregnant then dealing with the idea of trying to make a relationship work. Should the hot girl take in the big gross buffoon? Can a dork really get the hot girl? Jerry Seinfeld was right, this movie proves; when Elaine asks why are so many people getting together if only 5% of the population is dateable? Jerry replies, “alcohol.”

I thought I was supposed to be watching a comedy. This movie is much more a drama. Very little humor unless you laugh at Rogen’s character being a complete ass and dork, a stoner of the most immature kind. I didn’t find it funny, although my mouth did drop to the floor when his new pregnant girlfriend (the hot Katherine Heigl) would introduce him to friends and he would blurt out that he got her pregnant. I should have expected it but each time I was thinking no way he just did that.

I was glad to see Jason Segal in a movie as I love him playing Marshall in How I Met Your Mother. Unfortunately, he and Rogen’s other buddies have nothing to do in the movie but make fun of their bearded friend who they’ve made a bet with (what a lame and undeveloped subplot) and be stoner buddies. Stoner movies are funnier than these guys and I don’t even think stoner movies are funny.

This movie had potential to be real funny but instead goes for heart and becomes uneven in its attempts at being a story for the ages. It could have been real funny but with attempts at lame humor instead of real laughs makes it forgettable for years to come.
