A cast of Jennifer Aniston, Ben Affleck,
Jennifer Connelly, Justin Long, Drew Barrymore, Bradley Cooper,
Scarlett Johnasson, Kevin Connolly and Gennifer Goodwin take a stab
at showing what men and women mean by their actions and words, but
instead just becomes mindless drivel wasting a good two hours.
How many times have you looked at a cast list
and thought how wonderful the movie is going to be just to end up
disappointed that the movie was a letdown. It seems any time you put
this many known actors together, it never ends up well. This movie
is a prime example, although acting was not the reason.
The plot (oh yes, there was one) follows a
number of interrelating relationships ala Robert Altman showing how
couples deal with a number of communication issues. Great idea, but
is best left for the book from which it came. The fact that the
screenwriter tried to be Robert Altman probably has the great
director rolling over in his grave.
Unfortunately, with little plot to make its
points, this movie just seems to go on and on. If the girl gets the
clue that the guy just is not into him and stops waiting for that
phone call and move on with her life, then the viewer of this movie
should have realized halfway through that you are just not that into
it, and turn the movie off and watch Sportscenter instead.
