Greg Kinnear plays Bob Kearns, the inventor of
the intermittent windshield wiper. This story is unique and
interesting and provides a mix of technical information, as well as
emotional family drama. Kearns will not stop until he is credited
with the invention he made ensuring that all future inventors also
do not get their inventions stolen by corporate entities that
typically have more resources and money to take the credit
themselves.
It is unfortunate to see the pains that Kearns
put his family through. Most of the performances are subtle and do
not require the actors to get overly emotional which makes this
movie less melodramatic and more heartfelt. Plus, the viewer easily
wants Kearns to win his case and be noted as the inventor as the
movie does a good job at painting the corporate car industry (Ford
in this case) as evil, big and willing to do anything to cover up
the truth.
The movie also inspires the creative minds out
there to seek out new ideas and know what it feels like to have an
original idea that could help the overall world in some small way.
The movie is fresh and a nice departure from the typical action
movie, romantic comedy and cop drama that mostly fills the screens.
To bring such a topic to the screen is a flash of genius itself.
