Austin's Fuel Room - Libertyville, Illinois
Go ahead, laugh, but yes, we totally went and covered a
Bret Michaels show. For those of you who have been living under a
rock somewhere, Bret Michaels is the frontman of the rock band Poison.
Posion is the band behind the mega-hit song "Every Rose Has its Thorn."
Bret is also the lucky (or unlucky depending on your outlook) guy who is
featured on VH1's highest rated show Rock of Love, where he is
bombarded by heavily saline and / or silicone enhanced half-naked girls
trying to win his "love."
The 800 person venue was packed. On the main floor,
it was nearly impossible to move around, proving that Bret Michaels can
draw a huge crowd. Hell, we even spotted Chicago Bears Quarterback
Kyle Orton in attendance.
One could debate that his current appeal is derived more
off of Rock of Love than Bret's solo project, but the rock and
roll business doesn't care. As long as the venue is packed with
adoring fans and people are making money, then everyone is happy!
Bret can still rock. He puts on a passionate and energetic set
featuring some of his own songs, as well as a couple of Poison
favorites. We'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking, but
if Bret comes through your town, it really is okay to go check out his
show.
