(4 Out of 5)
I really
like All Time Low. I think that they have the
potential to be absolutely huge. I totally
called Blink 182, Sum 41, and Fallout Boy. I
also thought the same about Son of Dork,
Yellowcard, and The Starting Line, so really I
don’t know how good my track record is here.
Recently,
there have been a few alterna-punk-pop bands
that I like. Boys Like Girls, Angels and
Airwaves, and Metro Station are a few. The
common denominator is that they all seem
slightly sad, or angry, or bitter. Even Metro
Station sounds a little emo… Not that I blame
them, I mean dude is Hannah Montana’s older
brother, he will NEVER live that down.
What makes
All Time Low stand out is that these guys seem
to be having fun.
My music
critiquing is simple: if it sounds good, I like
it. I don’t much like these pity poor me acts
who sound like life is awful. I like happy,
upbeat, rock out music. Nothing Personal
is just that.
Track 2,
“Break Your Little Heart” should be their first
single of the album, it’s sing out loud
awesome. It is one of my favorite songs in a
long time. “Lost in Stereo,” “Damned if I Do Ya”
and “Stella” are also fantastic. “Keep the
Change You Filthy Animal” has no choice but to
kick ass… I mean it’s named after a line from
Home Alone!
I won’t
waste time talking about guitar riffs, chords,
and crap like that because I don’t know anything
about them. What I do know is that this entire
CD is incredible, and is well worth the 10 bucks
on Amazon.
If
Nothing Personal is their All Time Low, than
it will definitely “Break My Little Heart.”
